Amour, décadence, folie, mort; rien de tel pour qualifier cette pièce dont la beauté n’égale que la parfaite mise en scène de Guillaume Séverac-Schmidt. Par ses éclairages réglés à la perfection, accompagnés d’extraits musicaux tantôt assourdissants, tantôt à peine audibles, cette œuvre de John Webster surprend le spectateur. Cette pièce grâce à laquelle John Webster doit sa reconnaissance au dix-septième siècle a su arriver entre les mains talentueuses du metteur en scène, Guillaume Séverac-Schmidt, qui, à son tour, l’a remaniée pour en tirer tous les points forts, la mettre au goût du jour pour tenir le spectateur en haleine tout au long des deux heures vingt qu’a duré la représentation. L’émotion que dégage cette pièce, « tirée au cordeau », mâtinée d’une kyrielle de citations connues de tous, tour à tour comiques et tragiques, celui-ci conluant la pièce en beauté, dans un bain de sang fatal aux protagonistes laisse le spectateur en suspens tout au long de cette œuvre d’art.
